to 16 southern Indiana rural electric distribution cooperatives.
With headquarters and system control facilities in Bloomington,
Indiana, Hoosier Energy serves the power supply needs of more than
half-a-million residents, businesses, industries and farms in a
service area covering more than 15,000 square miles.
Indiana Statewide exists to enhance the competitiveness
of its member distribution cooperatives and generation and transmission
cooperatives by providing a unified voice and acting as an advocate
for the Indiana electric cooperative program and coordinating and
leveraging members’ resources, in the spirit of cooperation,
in order to help them fulfill their commitments to their member

utilities and the consumers they serve. NRECA has been an advocate
for consumer-owned cooperatives on energy and operational issues
as well as rural community and economic development since 1942.
NRECA’s nearly 1,000 member cooperatives serve 32 million
people in 46 states.
