Windows
Double pane, Low-E windows reduce heat radiation through the window and minimize moisture condensation that results with outside temperature changes.

Home window area is limited to 18 percent of the home's exterior total square foot wall area to better control heat radiation and cooling loss.

House wrap envelopes window openings using the modified "I" fold method. Window wrap is put in place.

The window treatment standard is the same for doors.

Exterior Doors
Metal, foam-insulated external doors are used.

The standard permits an exception for front door entries.

Low-E glass and a thermal break are in place in all doors.

Metal doors provide:
  • Better security.
  • Seal more tightly using magnetic weather-stripping.
  • More sound proof than regular wood doors.
