EPA Urges Americans to
Change a Light, Change the World

This Fall EPA and DOE are encouraging Americans to replace their highest-use light bulbs and fixtures with those that have earned the ENERGY STAR label. Through the Change a Light, Change the World campaign, EPA and DOE are working with hundreds of ENERGY STAR partner manufacturers, retailers, state governments, and utilities to make it easy for consumers to help the environment by changing a light. If every US household replaced their five most frequently used fixtures, or the light bulbs in them, with ENERGY STAR qualified models, not only would each household save more than $60 each year in energy costs, but we'd also collectively save an amount of energy equivalent to the annual output of more than 20 power plants and keep more than 1 trillion pounds of greenhouse gases out of our air.

Stay Warm and Save Energy this Winter
Are you prepared for the chill of winter heating bills? EPA can help you face this winter season with simple ideas that will help you keep warm, save energy and money, and help protect the environment. By following some of these recommendations and using energy efficiently in your home, you can make a difference by reducing air pollution.
